2026 Wet Paint Padanaram Plein Air
The 8th Annual Wet Paint Padanaram Plein Air event is back! Join us as we paint the scenic beauty of the Village, Harbor, and surrounding coastline. Voted the best of the Best Harbor in the United States, usharbors.com, in 2020 and 2022. We will once again gather at designated public access locations along with the quaint vistas of this coastal village and beyond. Originally designed to promote climate change and its effect on our coastal areas, our mission continues. This is a public event, and a part of our mission is to bring attention to the fragile nature of the coastline. We would like you to enjoy the natural beauty while being visible to foot and vehicle traffic. More details on this will be provided to registered artists! Once you have registered, we will feature your work on our social media pages for the weeks leading up to the event. This is a great way to get your talent shared, sell your artwork, and win a prize. Artist registration closes Sunday, August 9, 2026.
A Wet Painting Adoption Party will be held immediately following the event at the Dartmouth Cultural Center at 4:30pm. For more information on the events of the day go to Dartmouth Cultural Center.

Studio Closed for Travel
My Studio 223 at The Bower will close from September 12 - 26th, 2026 as I travel to my home state of Virginia to act as Chairperson of The 5th Floyd Plein Air Biennial. I will return slowly to full creative speed after returning.
The 5th Floyd Plein Air Biennial
The Floyd Center for the Arts is pleased to announce the 5th Floyd Plein Air Biennial, taking place September 14–19, 2026 in beautiful Floyd County, Virginia. This beloved event brings together talented artists from across the region and beyond to paint the inspiring landscapes, farms, waterways, and town scenes that define our community in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Over the course of the week, selected artists will paint entirely on location, capturing the light, atmosphere, and spirit of Floyd County in real time. From rolling fields and mountain vistas to historic sites, rivers, and downtown Floyd, participants will experience the landscape through focused observation and creative exploration.
The Biennial also features a variety of public opportunities to engage with plein air art, including artist demonstrations, wet paint sales, the Quick Draw Contest, and the Gala Art Sale, where finished works created during the event will be available for purchase.
We are honored to welcome Deliece Blanchard as the 2026 Event Judge. Deliece is an award-winning plein air painter and a distinguished member of Oil Painters of America, the American Impressionist Society, and American Women Artists. Her experience, dedication to the plein air tradition, and artistic excellence make her an inspiring leader for this year’s event.
Virginia native and plein air painter Joli Ayn Wood will return as Chairperson for the 2026 Biennial. Joli brings valuable insight as both an organizer and former participant, helping ensure a meaningful, supportive, and enriching experience for our visiting artists.
