Group Social and Healing Arts Sessions

With a unique, creative approach, my healing arts sessions focus on simple art activities to help you reduce stress, support recovery, and encourage personal growth in your daily life and work life. Learn how to “ride the wave” of life, including tangible ideas and skills you can use everyday. Positive group interaction encouraged but not required.  I am available for private, 1 hour group sessions upon request, as well as 6 week healing programs. I have experience in multiple work and clinical environments, from secure mental facilities to general patient/family interactions. Group sessions also make a meaningful addition to corporate retreats, community groups, or neighborhood social clubs as well.

For more information and to schedule a session catered to your needs, please send me your contact information using the Contact page. Please note “Group Social” in the Message block.

My Background: The Keeley Healing Arts Residency

From October 2018 - May 2019, I was honored, humbled, and proud to be Keeley Healing Arts Program’s Artist-in-Residence at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center in Christiansburg, Virginia. I spent time with resident patients, their families, and hospital staff creating art, talking about art, and simply providing a friendly visit. Often I’d have a theme or special activity focused on helping folks while they are at Carilion. I worked with patients individually and in group settings, such as in the St. Alban’s Mental Health Unit. Sometimes I’d set up my easel in the lobbies and waiting rooms and just paint. I found these demonstrations provided a platform for educating folks and spreading the word about the Healing Arts Program. But, mostly, my audience expressed that my painting presence was very calming, providing a quiet distraction in the hospital setting. It was an incredibly rewarding experience.
